Security & Public Safety
The Donnellson Police Department is located at 500 N. Oak Street in the City Hall building. The department consists of a police chief and five reserve peace officers. In Case of Emergency, dial 911 or 1-800-382-8900. For non-emergency, phone City Hall at 319-835-5714 during the working hours of 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday thru Friday.
Donnellson Fire Dept. consists of 24 all-volunteer members which serve a 140 miles radius including the city of Donnellson, Charleston, Franklin, Primrose and New Boston areas. Chief Fred Hoyer has been a member since 1956 and Chief since 1972. All firemen receive basic training in firefighting and CPR and provide EMT and paramedic/first response service.
Equipment includes 2 pumpers, 1 tanker, 2 brush trucks, equipment truck, jaws-of-life, defibrillators, and thermal-imaging cameras.
