Christian Herschler District Winery & Stagecoach Stop
The corner of 6th and Green Street in Franklin is home to the only standing registered stagecoach stop in Iowa. Immaculately restored, this historic structure has been widely featured on television and in national magazines for its remarkable history, unique limestone structure and for the popular tourist attraction and winery it now houses. Circa 1860, it offers handcrafted wines made from local fruits and berries. Tours of the winery and wine samples are free. Tours of the home are $5.00 for adults and $2.50 for children under 10.

There are murals in the home, a smokehouse in the home, and a well inside the home is used as a refrigerator. There are gardens and fountains outside to walk through. Weddings and meetings are welcome.

The Christian Herschler District Winery & Stagecoach Stop is open year round, daily from 9:00 a.m. to 5 p.m., and is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. For more information contact Michael or Lorianne Jarvis at (319) 835-9432.
